Raising Godly Children — A Holy Assignment
Sisters, can I remind you today that raising children is not just a duty — it’s a divine assignment?
In Proverbs 22:6, the Word says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” That’s not just advice, that’s a promise. But it starts with us, mothers, aunties, grandmothers — women of influence.
You see, the world is loud, but we have a louder voice when we speak with the Word of God. God has entrusted these little souls into our care, not to raise them with fear, but in faith. Ephesians 6:4 tells us to “bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
Can I ask you, mama, what are you nurturing in your home? Is it prayer or pressure? Is it peace or confusion? Because let me tell you, the first altar your child will ever see is you.
The first church they know is your living room. The first Bible they may read is your life.
Deuteronomy 6:6–7 says, “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children…” — not just in church, not just on Sunday — but when you sit in your house, when you walk, when you lie down, and when you rise.
Yes, it’s tiring. Yes, there are tantrums, teenage seasons, and times you feel like giving up. But remember, God is with you in this journey. He is the co-builder of your household.
And as you raise that child in the fear of the Lord, don’t forget to pray over them, declare over them, and bless them. Speak life into their destiny, even when their behavior doesn’t look like their calling yet.
Because raising a Godly child isn’t about perfection — it’s about direction.
So, woman of God, stay planted. Keep sowing the seeds. One day, you’ll see the fruit.
And when the world asks you how you did it, you’ll say, “I trusted God, I stayed on my knees, and I raised them on the Word.”
